Marketing consulting for medical practicesDirection first, then action. Otherwise you pay for activity for its own sake.

For practice owners who want to know what comes first before putting money into ads, a website or social media. One conversation, one plan, one order of priorities, no strategy papers that end up in a drawer.

Consulting: strategy before tactics
Helps with these goals
Explained in three sentences

For a practice, consulting means clarifying where it wants to go and which measure gets it there first: positioning, target group, the treatments you want to grow, order and budget. The result is a one-page plan the team understands and that makes every further decision easier. What it isn’t: a hundred-slide presentation nobody puts into practice.

Where practices stand today

Most practices do marketing on impulse: an agency calls, a colleague recommends Instagram, the budget is spent blindly. Without direction, you can’t tell whether something works, and every new measure is added on top instead of replacing something.

What we do differently

We don’t start with channels, but with the question of what the practice should stand for, and explicitly what not. From that follow the target group, the treatments you want to grow and an order: what first, what next, what not for now. The result is a one-page plan with budget and measurement points, and an honest statement when you don’t need something.

When you don’t need consulting

To be honest, there are cases where the money goes up in smoke. Then something else comes first.

You know exactly which treatment should grow, and your website is in place.

Then you don’t need a strategy, you need execution. Google Ads pointing to a landing page is the faster lever.

First: Google Ads →

You want a ready-made campaign and don’t want to answer questions about your practice and goals.

Consulting depends on your answers. Without the two meetings, it becomes a paper with no impact.

Your website is the obvious bottleneck: slow, outdated, no way to book an appointment.

Nobody needs to analyse that. Website first; after that, looking at the order of priorities pays off.

First: Website and web design →

How it works

  1. 01

Kickoff: your situation, your figures, the treatments you want to grow and what has happened so far

    Meeting 1, 90 minutes

  2. 02

Analysis: region, competitors, your patients’ search behaviour, reviews and website compared

    Weeks 1 to 2

  3. 03

One-page plan: positioning, target group, order of measures, budget, measurement points

    Meeting 2, week 2 to 3

  4. 04

Afterwards: you implement, with us or without us. After three months, a look at the figures to check the direction is right

    Month 3

What we automate, what stays human

Automated: we pull competitor, search volume and review data automatically, as well as the technical website check.

Human: the conversation, the assessment and the decision about what the practice stands for remain handcrafted, with Frank Randel in person.

What AI changes

Patients are increasingly asking AI systems which practice suits them, and 37.6 per cent of doctors in Germany already use AI themselves in everyday practice (Medizinio 2026). For your strategy, this means a practice needs a clear answer to what it stands for, because that is exactly the answer AI systems pass on. Practices without a clear profile no longer get found.

What comes before, what comes after

Consulting comes before everything else when the direction is unclear. It is usually followed by website and branding, then visibility and ads. Reporting is always part of it, so the plan can be reviewed after three months.

Reporting is always included with us, not an extra.

FAQs on medical practice consulting

How much does consulting cost?

It depends on the scope, from two meetings with a plan to ongoing support. We quote the price after the free strategy check, where you will already see whether consulting is the right step at all.

How long does it take to get the plan?

Two to three weeks: kickoff, analysis, second meeting with the plan. The first meeting is usually possible within a week.

Can I develop a strategy myself?

Yes, if you have time to analyse your region, the competition and your patients’ search behaviour. The value of consulting lies in an outside perspective and in experience from more than 35 practices and healthcare companies: what worked where, and what didn’t.

Is consulting worthwhile for a small solo practice?

Especially there. A solo practice has a small budget, and it can’t afford to spend it blindly. A one-page plan prevents the three measures that would not have been necessary.

Do I have to keep working with MedDirection afterwards?

No. The plan belongs to you and is written so that any agency or your own team can implement it. Many stay because the order of priorities is right, but nobody is obliged to.

How do I measure whether the strategy is working?

By two or three figures set out in the plan: for example, enquiries per month for the treatment you want to grow, the share of those that become appointments, and cost per enquiry. After three months, we look at them together.
