Social media marketing for dentists and medical practicesNot everywhere. Just where your patients and your future team already are.

For practices that want to use Instagram, Facebook or TikTok with a plan rather than sporadically: a content calendar that runs without you as the bottleneck, content from everyday practice life and an honest answer as to whether the effort pays off for your target group.

Social media: be where your patients already are
Helps with these goals
Explained in three sentences

For a practice, social media means a regular presence on the platforms where its patients and applicants spend time every day, with posts about everyday practice life, the team and treatments. It builds awareness and trust in the region and provides material for ads. What it doesn’t do: bring in appointments in the short term. That is what search and ads are for.

Where practices stand today

Most practices post when someone has time: a team photo, three weeks of nothing, then a Christmas greeting. That costs time and achieves nothing, because reach comes from regularity. And many are on platforms where their target group isn’t present at all.

What we do differently

We first clarify who you want to reach: patients in the region, applicants or both. That determines the platform: usually Instagram, TikTok as well for applicants, LinkedIn for referring doctors. Then a content calendar with formats that turn one shoot day into a quarter’s worth of content. And we tell you if social media isn’t the right lever for your practice.

When you don’t need social media

To be honest, there are cases where the money goes up in smoke. Then something else comes first.

Your website is outdated and you have fewer than ten reviews.

People who find you via Instagram look at your website and reviews next. Foundations first, then reach.

First: Website and web design →

You need new patients within four weeks.

Organic reach takes months. For speed, Google Ads is the lever; posts run in parallel.

First: Google Ads →

Nobody in the practice wants to be on camera, not even briefly.

Social media without faces is just decoration. In that case, it is better to invest the time in reviews and visibility.

How it works

  1. 01

Social media check: channels, target group, competitors in the region and whether it pays off

    Week 1

  2. 02

Plan: platform, formats, three-month content calendar, tone in line with the HWG and medical confidentiality

    Week 2

  3. 03

Production: one shoot day at the practice, turned into posts, clips and material for ads

    Weeks 3 to 4

  4. 04

Ongoing: publishing, replies to comments, and every month reach, enquiries and what to do next

    monthly

What we automate, what stays human

Automated: planning, publishing, reminders for the next shoot day and the monthly report run automatically.

Human: you decide what is shown and what isn’t. We write replies to comments in your voice, and a person on our team checks critical ones.

What AI changes

Social media content is now also evaluated by AI systems: the Semrush AI Visibility Index 2026 finds a correlation of 0.74 between YouTube mentions and visibility in AI answers. Posts and videos from the practice are therefore not just reach in the region, but also material that makes the practice visible in AI answers.

What comes before, what comes after

Before: a website, reviews and a visual identity, so the posts lead somewhere and look like you. After: Meta Ads that turn the posts into targeted ads for patients or applicants. Reporting is always part of it.

Reporting is always included with us, not an extra.

FAQs on social media marketing for dentists

Which platform suits my practice?

For patients in the region, Instagram and Facebook; for applicants, Instagram and TikTok; for referrers and colleagues, LinkedIn. Not all at once: one platform used regularly beats four with gaps.

How often do we need to post?

Two to three posts a week are enough if they come regularly. One shoot day per quarter produces enough content for that, without your team having to produce something every week.

What can a practice show on social media?

The team, rooms, processes, patient information and reviews with consent. Not allowed: promises of cures, certain before and after images and anything that touches on medical confidentiality. Patients only appear with written consent.

Does social media bring in new patients?

Indirectly, yes: it makes the practice known in the region and builds trust before anyone searches. Direct appointment requests tend to come via search and ads. The two together work best.

What about negative comments?

Reply factually and promptly, give no details about treatment, and offer a conversation. We handle the monitoring and draft the reply with you.

How much does social media cost?

From €2,400 for 8 posts per week. The exact price depends on the platforms and the mix of posts. The free social media check shows whether the effort pays off for your target group.
