Patient value calculator: how much can a new patient cost?
A new patient can cost a practice as much as the share of their value you want to set aside for marketing. The calculator shows this in euros per patient and per enquiry, using your own figures.

How the tool calculates
The calculation has three steps. A patient's value is the revenue per year multiplied by the number of years they stay. From this, you decide the maximum share that may go into marketing. Because not every enquiry becomes a patient, this amount multiplied by the conversion rate gives the maximum cost per enquiry.
Use this figure to check every offer and every channel: if an enquiry via Google Ads costs more than your maximum, the channel does not pay off, however good the click figures look. The preset values are examples, not averages. Replace them with your own figures from your billing.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate the value of a patient?
Revenue per patient per year multiplied by the number of years a patient stays with the practice on average. For one-off treatments such as an implant, use one year and the revenue from the treatment.
What share for marketing makes sense?
There is no fixed rule. What matters is what is left after materials, lab and staff. The calculator starts with 10 per cent as an example. Adjust the value as soon as real figures from your tracking are available.
Are my entries saved?
No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The values only appear in the address bar so that you can share the result as a link.
